Aaron Ramsey helped Wales cruise to victory in the UEFA Nations League…

Aaron Ramsey helped Wales gain revenge on the Republic of Ireland for halting their qualification for Russia 2018 with a 4-1 thrashing in the new UEFA Nation’s League.

Ramsey started in a front-two alongside Gareth Bale and the two star-men delivered sensational performances in front of their home fans to claim the three points.

The new competition, designed to replace friendlies and create meaningful international matches outside of qualifiers for major tournaments, seems to have kicked some teams into gear.

Ireland vs Wales is always a tasty affair, though it seemed Ryan Giggs’ men had a score to settle and boy did they settle it.

Ramsey found the bottom corner with a clever finish after Wales stole the ball back inside the visitors’ half, extending the lead to 3-0.

Tom Lawrence and Gareth Bale had already given the Euro 2016 semi-finalists a healthy lead.

Ramsey has been named one of the five captains for us this season as is seen as an integral part of Unai Emery’s plans. However, his contract expires in June and it’s fair to say that his long-term future is very much in the balance.

Check out his lovely strike in the video above.
