Alan Shearer lambasts “embarrassing” managerial situation at Arsenal…

Alan Shearer has reiterated his point about Arsene Wenger with the former Newcastle United forward claiming that he’d be surprised if the boss is still in the hot seat next season.

Shearer stated on Match of the Day after our diabolical defeat against West Brom that the Arsenal players made a statement with their performance at the Hawthorns that they’d no longer like to work under Wenger.

The highest goalscorer in Premier League history believes that Wenger has lost the players and described the situation at Arsenal as “embarrassing” given that they’re not even planning for his potential exit.

“I would still be very surprised if Arsene is manager of Arsenal next season,” Shearer told Coral.

“It’s all becoming a bit of an embarrassment. They should have started planning already for next season regarding which players they are going to bring in.”

Planning is clearly something we deem secondary at Arsenal Football Club given how frequently we’re left in completely avoidable situations.

We constantly fail to strengthen the squad adequately to cover for players who we know have wretched injury records. We constantly let our best players get to the final years of their contract. And now, we’re not even attempting to plan for the biggest transition in the club’s history.

Wenger will depart one day, though it seems that fact hasn’t even crossed the board’s minds.
