Alexis Sanchez reminisces on why he joined Arsenal…

Alexis Sanchez has once again spoken of the admiration he felt towards Arsenal before joining the club in a mini-documentary about our history.

Speaking alongside Hector Bellerin and Mesut Ozil, the Chilean spoke about what attracted him to move to north London in 2014 following a successful World Cup campaign.

Barcelona put Alexis up for sale after capturing the signing of Luis Suarez from Liverpool, and we were one of many clubs in for our leading goalscorer.

However, the club’s identity is solidified across the globe and Alexis stated he was already sure about what he was walking into at the time.

“What brought me here to Arsenal? It was a big club,” Alexis stated.

“It was time that we made history at this club.”

Fast-forward three years and the future of Alexis Sanchez is very much up in the air with the 28-year-old only having just over 12 months remaining on his contract.

There have been rumblings of dressing room bust-ups and clashes with the boss which give the impression that his future lies away from the Emirates Stadium.

Alexis has been in sensational form this season and finally looked like he solved our profligacy in front of goal which has been an issue since Robin Van Persie left in 2012.

Check out the full video above as Bellerin, Ozil and Alexis discuss the club’s identity.
