Arsenal legend Ian Wright maintains that Alexis Sanchez looks set for the exit door and even senses from his body language that the Chilean’s thoughts are elsewhere.

Alexis is out of contract in less than six months and there is an inevitability around the club that he will be departing, whether it’s in the January window or at the end of the season remains the question.

Despite that, Arsene Wenger has repeatedly claimed that he’s never questioned the former Barcelona man’s commitment, though his performances say otherwise.

The 29-year-old seems a shadow of the player we saw tearing the league apart last season, scoring only four league goals so far this season.

After his move to Manchester City broke down in August, followed by Chile’s failure to qualify for the World Cup, this campaign seems to be a right off for Alexis.

“It does look to me like he’s clocked off,” Wrighty said on BBC Radio 5 Live.

“Sanchez’s attitude is saying a lot about him. If he left in January, the way he’s playing now, I can’t see how that’s going to hurt Arsenal. He’s not playing well enough.

“He’s not putting in a shift. Coutinho wanted to leave; he put in a transfer request but look at the way he’s playing. Look at the way Ozil is playing.

“You’ve got to still put it in. He’s not putting it in. It says a lot about him.”

The continuous reports of bust-ups between Alexis and several teammates ever since he was dropped at Liverpool last season hasn’t helped matters.

While his talents are there for all to see on his day, it seems best for all parties of Alexis was moved on and replaced as quick as possible.
