Arsenal launch 2017/18 home kit…

Arsenal officially launched the 2017/18 home kit on Wednesday morning at King’s Cross with Gunners legends Robert Pires and Martin Keown donning the strip alongside fans.

As is usually the case with new strips, we’ve seen the images weeks before the launch courtesy of the leaks, with the away and third kits soon to be revealed.

The main obvious differences from the last home kit are the collar and the fade-like feature on the socks.

Given that Puma has to follow tradition, they have very little wriggle room when designing the home strip – it HAS to be red and white.

While the launch of the new kit usually means that pre-season ahead of the new campaign is near, Arsenal fans are in their usual state during the close season.

It’s hard to get excited when the club is yet to loosen the purse strings to make a signing, despite promising to learn from previous errors and have a squad ready to go for the first game of the season.

Also, the future of Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil still needs to be sorted out, not to mention the contract situations of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Jack Wilshere.

There’s still work to be done.
