Arsenal have sought to quell rumours emanating from Italy suggesting that chief executive Ivan Gazidis is set to jump ship and join AC Milan, Arseblog News reports.

The former MLS executive has led a sensational revolution at Arsenal over the past few months, adding layers of senior appointments which ended with the arrival of new head coach Unai Emery.

In January, head of recruitment Sven Mislintat, head of football relations Raul Sanllehi and chief contract negotiator Huss Fahmy joined the club.

Fahmy and Mislintat made their presence felt immediately by travelling with Gazidis to Germany as they negotiated our record deal to bring Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to the club.

Gazidis always claimed that negotiating the post-Wenger era would be the “biggest challenge this club has faced” and while we’re currently in the midst of it, seeing him depart before we’ve properly observed how this all plays out is truly baffling.

According to Arseblog News, an Arsenal spokesperson has claimed that they have ‘no knowledge’ of an imminent deal which would give credence to the notion that an exit now would be met with huge surprise.

Gazidis has often been labelled a coward by Arsenal fans, a chief executive who spent his time hiding behind Arsene Wenger and failing to live up to his position.

If he were to jump ship months after Wenger’s exit, he’d prove those doubters right.
