Arsenal’s record signing Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has given his vote of confidence to Arsene Wenger by stating that the Frenchman was one of the mains reasons why he joined the club, ITV reports.

Arsene Wenger has come under intense criticism in recent months after enduring his worse run of form as Arsenal manager, losing eight games in 13.

After breaking our transfer record to sign Alexandre Lacazette last summer, Wenger unusually went one-step further five months later to land Aubameyang.

His move was designed to solve our issues up front this season, with the departing Alexis Sanchez one of our top scorers in the Premier League this season.

Aubemayang has had a respectable start too, despite the lack of football given his ineligibility in the Europa League, the 28-year-old has found the net three times in five league games.

“It was a bit difficult at the beginning but I am feeling better. I didn’t play a lot in January so it was difficult to find the rhythm,” Aubemayng said.

“Now I am feeling better. I work hard, I have worked a lot in the last weeks and I am happy because I feel better.

“Of course I am really happy (for Wenger) because I am here because of him. He had the interest in me so I am happy to play for him.”

He may have joined for Wenger, but it could very well be that the forwards outlast the legendary manager at the club with talk of a managerial change this summer.
