Arsenal forward Danny Welbeck scored once again in the England shirt as he continues his impressive record on the international stage ahead of the World Cup.

Welbeck is the sole representative of Arsenal in the England squad, and it’s easy to see why when one analyses his performances in an England top.

While many feel the Three Lions’ shirt to heavy to bear, Welbeck seems to thrive under the national microscope and his header against Costa Rica stands him in good stead ahead of Russia 2018.

Spurs’ Dele Alli laid on the cross for him to convert, and Welbeck will certainly be looking to get some minutes at this summer’s tournament.

Welbeck has just a year left on his Arsenal contract and there doesn’t seem any urgency on either party to resolve the uncertainty.

Unai Emery refused to speak publicly about individual players and their potential importance under him, while reports of any contract offer haven’t been forthcoming.

At 27, the former Man United man is entering the prime of his career and hoping to enjoy a sustained period on the field following a few years of some horrendous luck with injuries.

Check out his goal in the clip above.
