Alan Shearer calls situation at Arsenal “pathetic”…

Alan Shearer has reemphasized his view that the uncertainty surrounding Arsene Wenger’s future is hindering our preparation for next season.

Wenger is out of contract next month and while many reports claim that he will extend his contract by another two years, Shearer feels like Arsenal cannot properly plan for next season with this dark cloud hanging over us.

Shearer feels like players who may be targetted by Arsenal ahead of next season need clarity in terms of who the manager of Arsenal Football Club will be.

The Newcastle United icons also touched on the fact that our current form is being affected by Wenger’s reluctance to disclose his future.

“It’s affecting them – now – and it’s affecting them for next season,” Shearer told Coral.

“You can’t plan. They (potential signings) don’t know who’s going to be the manager or not.

“It’s an embarrassing situation for everyone.”

Shearer’s take is understandable, in theory, though it looks like we’re having no issues signing players ahead of next season with reports claiming that Schalke’s Sead Kolašinac will become our first arrival of the summer.

According to the Daily Mail, Kolašinac has been told that Wenger will be Arsenal manager next season which confirms the notion that the board are trying to find a right time to make an announcement.
