Arsene Wenger calls for perspective…

Arsene Wenger has threatened to anger Arsenal fans further after he appeared to delegitimize the dissent around the club and his position in particular.

Wenger spoke to talkSPORT after our 5-0 win over Lincoln City to book our place in a third FA Cup semi-final in four years, and the boss called for the noises from the fans to be taken into perspective.

There were protests specifically aimed at Wenger before our last two fixtures, and the numbers grew ahead of kick-off at the weekend, though the Frenchman claimed that those conducting anti-Wenger protests were clearly in the minority.

“Personally, I’d prefer to have everyone happy,” Wenger told talkSPORT.

“When you have 60,000 people in the stadium & 100 are not happy, people only talk about the 100. You have to take that into perspective.”

While Wenger may have a numerical point about the protest, he’s come to the conclusion that those not at the protest are supportive of him and content with the current situation.

In reality, the majority of the fanbase have a deep level of respect for him and cannot fathom marching up to a ground he essentially built to hound him out of the club.

However, with comments like these, Wenger may force the silent majority to prove that they love the club over any single individual which may cause numbers at these protests to only grow.
