Arsene Wenger predicts big summer for the club…

Arsene Wenger dropped another hint about his future at his pre-match press conference ahead of the FA Cup final by distancing himself from the club when predicting this summer’s business.

The boss was asked about the club’s determination to hold onto star players such as Alexis Sanchez, and Wenger referred to the club as “the” rather than “we”.

It may be minute in the grand scheme of things, but it’s the little details we’re left to work with given the silence around the club about their managerial plans.

However, following his bizarre press conference following our final league game against Everton, Wenger’s future doesn’t seem as secure as some have made out.

“We have nobody at the end of contract so that will be completely our decision,” Wenger told the press.

“We…the club has, of course, a big job to do during the summer because you want to keep players like Alexis and end all the speculations that could happen.”

It’s not the first time Wenger has corrected himself in terms of how he referrs to the club, a possible assessment of how the Frenchman views his future.

While the uncertainty has been frustrating and pretty damaging to the club this season, at least we haven’t got too long to wait for an announcement with only the FA Cup final to play before it’s made public.

Check out his full pre-match press conference.
