Wenger’s Lucas praise…

Arsene Wenger lavished praised on Arsenal’s star man Lucas Perez in our convincing win against Basel on Tuesday night after the Spaniard bagged a hat-trick in a 4-1 win.

Going into the game, many thought it was a ‘dead rubber’ given that Paris Saint-Germain needed to win at home against the whipping boys of the group Ludogorets to win the group.

However, Wenger treated the game seriously and deployed a strong side, a decision which paid off after Ludogorets managed to snatch a point at the Parc des Princess.

“He scored over 20 goals in Spain and that is never a coincidence,” Wenger told BT Sport.

“He has a good smell for goals in the box.”

Lucas produced a wonderful display coming from the right-flank and was also diligent in his defensive work when protecting Gabriel.

With Theo Walcott currently experiencing a dip in form, the 28-year-old now should be seriously considered to start against Stoke City on Saturday.
