Arsene Wenger has a warning…

Arsene Wenger warned the team that we’ll need a near-perfect record if we’re to keep pace with league leaders Chelsea at the top of the table.

Speaking after our 2-0 win against Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium, a game which will forever be remembered for Oliver Giroud unreal scorpion goal.

After leading a counter attack, Alexis Sanchez picked up the ball on the left and launched a slightly under hit cross into the box.

It seemed destined for a Palace head, but Giroud had other ideas as he hooked the ball with his heal into off the bar and into the back of the net – Henrikh Mkhitariyan eat your heart out.

However, after praising Giroud’s goal, Wenger had a warning for the team.

“At the moment Chelsea is in front of everybody and all the others try to hang and not give any ground away,” Wenger told Sky Sports.

“They all (top six), when they are expected to win, they win.

“Every surprising result penalises you.”

Wenger’s words are clear, we cannot afford silly slip-ups.

With the game against Chelsea looming large, we have to keep within touching distance before that trip to Stamford Bridge and hope to claim a rare win there.
