Alexandre Lacazette proved to Unai Emery that he can lead the line alongside Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang after the Frenchman bagged an assist and a thunderous winner against Cardiff.

The newly-promoted side came back from two goals down on two occasions, following goals from Shkodran Mustafi and Aubameyang looked like they gave us the win.

Danny Ward headed home the second equaliser 20 minutes from time but given our attacking prowess throughout the game, you always had the impression that we would grab another.

And, following an impressive cameo from Lucas Torreira, the Uruguayan played a clever pass for Lacazette to fire into the roof of the net.

It’s the former Lyon man’s first goal of the season and after a tricky debut campaign, he’ll certainly hope this performance propelsĀ him as our first-choice striker.

The 26-year-old is better than Aubameyang in terms of his link play and strength of holding up opponents, but Aubameyang is the forward with the X-factor.

Emery has been reluctant in recent weeks to start the two together but they certainly showed that they can form a devastating partnership.

Check out Lacazette’s winner in the video below and hopefully, it’s the start of a winning run.
