Danny Welbeck explains “Salt Bae” celebration…

Danny Welbeck was recently interviewed by a fan alongside Oxlade-Chamberlain and Mertesacker who asked him about the inspiration behind the ‘Salt Bae’ celebration he produced after netting in the FA Cup this season against Southampton.

Welbeck, who had just returned from a serious knee injury, netted a brace at St Mary’s and twice pulled out the celebration which mimicked the internet sensation now commonly referred to as “Salt Bae”.

The fan, Aaron, was given the chance to interview Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Welbeck and Per Mertesacker courtesy of the club’s official sponsor Europcar.

Among a number of other things, Aaron wanted to know if any of our first-team players practice the celebration they’ll attempt during a game.

“No I didn’t even practice it, you know,” Welbeck said about his infamous celebration.

“I just put a little bit of a sprinkler on it. I didn’t practice it, it just happened.”

The Arsenal trio were also asked about the upcoming FA Cup semi-final against Manchester City as we look to clinch our third FA Cup in three seasons.

Welbeck, Mertesacker and Oxlade-Chamberlain have had good memories at Wembley and will certainly look to add to those memories this month.

Check out their full chat with Aaron the Arsenal fan in the video above.
