Former World Player of the Year George Weah has been speaking recently about Arsene Wenger’s influence on his career. The Liberian icon was handed his big break in Europe by Wenger when he brought him to Monaco, and Weah would go on to become one of the most feared marksmen on the planet.

After receiving his FIFA World Player of the Year award in 1995 as an AC Milan player, Weah called Wenger on to the stage and handed him the award, stating he’d be nowhere near the top of the game without the Frenchman.
