Raphael Honigstein predicts Ozil stay…

Bundesliga expert Raphael Honigstein believes that Mesut Ozil is more likely to stay at Arsenal this summer despite only have just over 12 months left on his current deal.

Ozil is yet to commit his future to Arsenal but has publically stated on a number of occasions that he’s very happy at the club and there seems to be very little rumours regarding a potential move.

According to the Mirror, Ozil has been offered a contract worth £280,000 per week, which comfortably doubles his current salary and makes him one of the biggest earners in the Premier League.

However, despite the fact that he’s yet to put pen to paper, Honigstein believes he’ll still be here come September.

When asked about Ozil’s future on ESPN FC, the journalist replied: “I still think he’s more likely to stay than to leave.”

If we’re to undergo radical changes this summer, we’ll still need to have a degree of stability in the squad and keeping the man labelled as the leader of the new era should be a priority.
