I think it’s fair to say that Lucas Torreira now knows how manic Arsenal fans can get after being informed about his flight to London being tracked by Gooners online.

Torreira’s move from Sampdoria was officially announced on Tuesday by both clubs, although many already reported that a deal was imminent before the World Cup had started.

Arsenal very rarely announces a transfer without overcoming every minute detail, and so the World Cup prevented Torreira undergoing a medical and thus delaying the inevitable move.

His sensational displays in Russia have earned him rave reviews among Arsenal fans, though those in Italy have long heralded his displays as a destructive midfielder.

Speaking to Arsenal Player upon his arrival,  Torreira was slightly amused at the thought of his flight being tracked and said he’s rather relaxed about the move.

“No, I didn’t know about it, but I am here and I will see them all soon,” the holding midfielder said when asked about the difference in training camps.

On the move overall, Torreira said: “I feel very happy. I want to make the most of this opportunity life has given me. I am really looking forward to starting this new adventure.”

Torreira will now go back on holiday having only played in the FA Cup quarter-finals days ago and once can look forward to him slotting in rather seamlessly.
