Audio: Piers Morgan Takes Aim At Arsenal Fans For Allowing Gunners Malaise To Occur

Piers Morgan took to his favourite platform in talkSPORT to vent against Arsene Wenger and the MailOnline editor placed blamed on the passive Arsenal fans who’ve allowed this situation to occur.

After reading out an article he wrote in 2008, which could’ve been written last week given the repetition of our failures over the past decade, Piers can’t believe how Wenger still has fans who back him.

He called on Arsenal fans to “wake up” and “protest” given that the club is attempting to sneak in a new contract for Wenger when the dissent simmers down.

However, with our form showing no signs of taking an upturn, it seems very difficult for the board to sell a new contract to fan as we drift further away from the top of the table.

Piers states that we’re currently experiencing a unique situation and has called on the board to sack Arsene Wenger if he refuses to walk this summer.

“He should be fired,” Piers demanded in his rant.

“If he doesn’t want to go with his dignity vaguely intact, he’s got to be fired.”

He later went on to challenge Arsenal fans to prove that they’re loyal to the club and not the manager by demanding change considering that there are not footballing reasons left to persist with Wenger.

Piers is a very divisive character and while the messenger may be flawed, the message certainly isn’t. Those defending Wenger are struggling to find concise reasons as to why he deserves a new deal, and that should prove that it may be time for a change.
