Jon Smith hints that Josh Kroenke was pushing for a sale…

Super agent Jon Smith indicated in a recent sit down with ArsenalFanTV that Stan Kroenke was being advised by his inner circle to seriously consider Alisher Usmanov’s offer.

As the season drew to a close last summer, Kroenke’s ownership of the club was called into serious question after our second largest shareholder, Usmanov, made a bid to take full control of the club.

It was a strategic move and one which had Kroenke on the ropes for a bit, with fans making their feelings known at the next available opportunity by calling for the American to sell up.

Club legends such as Ian Wright also chimed in, but Kroenke resisted the pressure and rejected the offer, insisting that he was committed to the club for the long-term.

However, prominent agent and massive Arsenal fan Jon Smith hinted that Kroenke son Josh may have been advising his father to give into Usmanov’s demands.

“There’s a couple of people on the board, who weren’t sure which way to go,” the agent told ArsenalFanTV.

“There was an owner who, as I understand it, didn’t want to sell – but, potentially, his son did.

“I’m not saying he does, but Jo was definitely listening.”

Kroenke currently owns 66% of the club, while Usmanov owns 30% after buying his partner Farhad Moshiri out following his departure to Everton.
