Aaron Ramsey refuses to clarify his future as talks continue…

Arsenal star Aaron Ramsey stopped short of clarifying his future after he spoke to the media in Singapore ahead of our pre-season fixtures against Atletico Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.

Just like Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil last season, Ramsey is 12 months away from being a free agent and just like the aforementioned duo, he hasn’t been sold.

Ramsey’s representatives have been locked in negotiations with our hierarchy and the Welshman’s situation is another important one for the likes of Raul Sanllehi and Huss Fahmy to sort out.

It’s no coincidence that Ozil committed his future following the arrival of a new negotiation team and one can hope that Ramsey will stay.

“Talks are still ongoing, but I’ve got nothing more to say about that,” Ramsey updated in front of a media scrum (via HaytersTV).

“We’ll see what happens but my agent and the club are talking. I’m just leaving that to them to discuss and figure it out.

“But we’re yet to come to an agreement so that’s something that my agent and the club are discussing to try and get something done.”

That final sentence gives an indication that there’s a willingness from all parties to come to an agreement for Ramsey to stay, and thus explains the lack of links concerning an exit for the 27-year-old during the summer window.

Ramsey could be following the Ozil playbook by allowing the window to close and consequently placed the power of negotiations in his hands.

Hopefully, this can be resolved imminently.
