“I Can’t Wait” – Aaron Ramsdale Relishing Bournemouth Return

Aaron Ramsdale returns to his former club this Saturday…

Arsenal goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale is relishing his impending return to former club Bournemouth as we look to make it nine points from nine in the Premier League, the Bournemouth Echo reports.

Ramsdale has been a revelation in north London since his £24 million move from Sheffield United last summer, with the move coming amidst a backdrop of criticism.

Mikel Arteta was adamant that Ramsdale was needed the club pursued him intently throughout the summer and landed him late on in the window.

Initially, many assumed he was arriving as a backup goalkeeper to German international Bernd Leno. However, Ramsdale was thrust in following the window slamming shut, and the England international started every league game – bar one – following that point.

Despite being relegated with Bournemouth, there remains a mutual admiration between The Cherries and Ramsdale.

“I can’t wait to play at the Vitality again,” the 24-year-old was quoted as saying.

“I had an unbelievable attachment to the fans and I still do.

“I came back to a game last season and I had pictures galore, people saying hello and my mum and dad still come down and watch games every now and then.

“It’s going to be a great day. For 90 minutes, we are a little bit enemies but after that we are going to be great friends again and it’s something I can’t wait for.”

Ramsdale has previously spoken about needing a hostile atmosphere to perform at an optimum level, hopefully, he doesn’t let sentiment get in his way as he looks to secure a second consecutive away clean sheet.
