Aaron Ramsey Labels Ozil As The “Teacher’s Pet”: He Always Gets More Rest Than Us

Aaron Ramsey names Mesut Ozil as Arsenal’s teacher’s pet…

Aaron Ramsey is the latest player to be placed under the microscope by Soccer AM in their ‘Teammates’ feature and the Welshman showed a bit of character which is very rare.

Ramsey is one of the more ‘dull’ players at Arsenal and seems to want to go about his business quietly, but he didn’t mind throwing a few of his teammates under the bus when discussing their flaws.

Asked to name the ‘Teacher’s Pet’ among the squad, Ramsey had one player in mind: “Probably, Mesut (Ozil).”

“He’s probably a teacher’s pet, he gets a few extra days off than the rest of us. He’s always in the boss’ room asking for something.”

Ozil was given a number of days off last season by Wenger, especially during the winter months as the games came thick and fast with the German nursing a slight injury.

The 28-year-old hardly trained before games, which may have given Ramsey the impression that Ozil was getting preferential treatment.

Having said that, it’s all a bit of light-hearted banter from the Welsh wizard.
