Arsenal star Alex Iwobi found the net for Nigeria in their 2-1 defeat to England at Wembley as he threatened to lead a comeback charge.

The hosts went two goals up thanks to strikes from Gary Cahill and Harry Kane and it seemed as though it would be a comfortable afternoon for the Three Lions.

However, shortly after half-time, Iwobi set-up an attack by playing a lovely pass to former Watford striker Odion Ighalo, and after he saw his effort saved, Iwobi stormed in to slam home the equaliser.

Iwobi is one of eight Arsenal players jetting off to Russia following a troublesome season with us, though change has come and the future looks exciting.

Ivan Gazidis said Unai Emery became favourite for the job due to his knowledge of our younger players and eagerness to improve with them, with Iwobi coming firmly in that category.

Iwobi has arrived at a crossroad in his career just like many other youngsters Arsene Wenger gave their debut to in recent years, stagnating in his development.

While he possesses raw ability, he’s unaware of his role out of possession and doesn’t know where to stand in the attacking third to hurt opponents.

Hopefully, that’s something Emery and his coaching staff can drill into him.
