Alex Iwobi explains PSG own goal…

Alex Iwobi has spoken for the first time since his own goal against Paris Saint-Germain diminished our chances of finishing top of our Champions League group.

Iwobi nodded a tame Lucas header past David Ospina to give the French champions the point they were looking for and was immediately substituted by Arsene Wenger.

Speaking ahead of our clash against Bournemouth on Sunday, the winger stated that the unfortunate incident was out of his mind and he isn’t looking to dwell on it.

“I heard a shout from Ospina behind me, but I reacted a bit late,” Iwobi told Sky Sports.

“It is a mistake I made and I do hold my hands up and apologise but there’s nothing I can do about it now, I’ll just have to move on.”

Iwobi’s defensive contribution to the team may be the reason why Wenger usually drops him in the big games and it’s something he definitely has to work on.

Being efficient on the ball is a plus, but the big games are decided by the little details as Iwobi cruelly found out.

Check out his take on the incident, as well as his rise to prominence over the past 10 months in the video above.
