Alexandre Lacazette makes a goalscoring promise…
Arsenal new boy Alexandre Lacazette sat down with Gunners legend Thierry Henry ahead of our big Premier League clash at Liverpool and the Frenchman promised to score the goals we need to challenge for the title.
Goals weren’t necessarily our main issue last season, although we were heavily reliant on Alexis Sanchez to bail us out when things weren’t going our way.
Lacazette stated that he noticed that when watching Arsenal last year and after being modest about his ambitions, Henry forced him to rephrase his goals and speak with more certainty.
“I’m going to try to score lots of goals,” the former Lyon man said.
Henry then quizzed: “Try? Or score?”
“No, I’m going to score!” Lacazette affirmed.
“I’m going to score goals at key times in the games where the team may have struggled in previous years. This season I’m going to help this team win them and that’s what Arsenal have to do: win games and trophies,” the £52million-man added.
He can certainly start off by producing a solid display at Liverpool on Sunday, a team which will allow him room to manoeuvre in what has historically been an open game.
This fixture produced 11 goals last season, with Jurgen Klopp’s men doing the double over us in the league.
