Arsenal skipper Alexandre Lacazette missed a few guilt-edged chances…

Arsenal captain Alexandre Lacazette apologised for his profligacy in our narrow win at Wolves and vowed to work harder to improve his efficiency.

Lacazette was presented with two good opportunities in the match, but the one that could’ve proven to be costly was his miss in the second-half minutes after we went down to 10-men.

A straight ball from Gabriel saw the Frenchman one-against-one with Jose Sa, but he dragged his shot wide and missed the chance to put us 2-0 up.

Our lack of business in the January transfer window, coupled with the departure of Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, has sharpened the focus on our strikeforce.

Lacazette has scored two goals from open play in the Premier League this season, a figure he must improve on if we’re to finish in the top four.

“Disappointed, I know I should score that one,” Lacazette said on his personal Instagram account.

“Gonna keep working to be back!

“But happy for the 3 points and proud of everyone to keep the clean sheet. Thanks to the fans for your support,” the 30-year-old added.

Capturing all three points at a difficult ground on a game week in which both Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur dropped points was crucial.

On many occasions in the past, those opportunities have passed us by and with them the chance to send a message to our rivals.

Now, we return to the Emirates Stadium for our only other games this month, as Brentford and Wolves visit north London.
