Alexis Sanchez refuses to discuss future…
Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez refused to be drawn on his future after producing a man of the match display against Germany in the Confederations Cup.
Chile top Group B after drawing with the world champions, with Alexis Sanchez netting for La Roja as he cemented his place as the top scorer in the nation’s history ahead of legendary Marcelo Salas.
Ironically, Alexis’ goal came from a Shkodran Mustafi error who had an absolute horror show throughout the game.
For the Chilean, however, there came the inevitable question on his future as he took on the post-match press conference duties due to his standout performance.
The 28-year-old is out of contract in 12 months and there seems to be an acceptance that he’ll be on his way this summer.
When asked if he’s any closer to deciding his future, Alexis switched the focus completely on the competition.
“As you have just said, our dream is to win this competition,” he told the reporter.
“We’re really focused on that and we might be able to do so. Now we need to rest, we have a game on Sunday and we have to play the same way.”
As expected, it doesn’t seem we’ll be getting any answers from Alexis during his Confederations Cup exertions, a competition which ends on July 2nd.
