Alexis Sanchez Seemingly Ignores Arsene Wenger Handshake In Training

By The Editor

Alexis Sanchez and Wenger involved in an awkward moment…

Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez was involved in an awkward exchange with Arsene Wenger as the players prepared for training ahead of our Europa League clash at Red Star Belgrade.

Alexis, who’s out of contract in less than six months and looks set to depart, seemed to shirk the customary handshake with Wenger when the players emerge from the changing rooms and onto the pitch.

The 28-year-old’s relationship with Wenger seems strained from an external perspective following his failed move to Manchester City last summer.

The Chilean has refused to sign an extension and after Wenger stated that he’d remain an Arsenal player when the window closed, the boss had a change of heart after our thrashing at Liverpool.

However, that move never materialised due to our failure to sign a credible replacement.

In terms of the exchange above, one cannot determine if it was a simple misunderstanding on Alexis’ part, or if it’s a glimpse into what goes on at London Colney on a day-to-day basis.

Reports have been rife that members of the first-team squad aren’t too happy with Ozil and Alexis’ attitudes behind the scenes, and this could’ve been an illustration of that.

Having said that, Wenger does point at Alexis to suggest that he may have erred on his part.

Check out the exchange in the video above. Was it intentional?
