Alisher Usmanov Makes $1.3bn Offer To Stan Kroenke For Full Control Of Arsenal – Report

Alisher Usmanov launches bid to takeover Arsenal Football Club…

Alisher Usmanov has made a sensational $1.3billion offer for Stan Kroenke’s share of Arsenal Football Club as he seeks complete ownership of the club.

In an extraordinary turn of events, Usmanov seems intent on adding to his 30% share of the club and clearly feels the time is right to launch a hostile takeover.

Kroenke and Usmanov haven’t seen eye-to-eye in recent years and it remains far-fetched to even comprehend a scenario in which the American sells to the fifth richest man in the United Kingdom.

However, Kroenke does face arguably the toughest week in his Arsenal tenure as he’s forced to make a major decision for the first time.

With Arsene Wenger’s contract up this summer as many fans call for him to walk, it seems he still has the backing of majority shareholder Kroenke.

Any decision to extend Wenger’s contract would come from him which would leave the billionaire open to fierce criticism from the Arsenal faithful.

However, it’s hard to note how much Kroenke even cares about the discerning voices given that he spends most of the season across the pond – where he’s also experiencing troubling times.

Whatever happens, as many expected, it will prove to be an interesting summer at Arsenal as change beckons.

Check out Sky Sport’s report on the situation in the video above.
