Arsenal 0-0 Middlesbrough…
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger bemoaned the lack of creativity in the side following our goalless draw at home to Middlesbrough on Saturday afternoon.
With a chance to three points clear at the top of the Premier League up for grabs, we produced a lacklustre display and created very few goalscoring opportunities.
Middlesbrough defended deep with 10-men behind the ball, and our movement wasn’t sharp enough to move them out of position.
“We were a bit jaded,” Wenger said after the game.
“We had 75% possession, Middlesbrough defended deep and we exposed ourselves to counter attacks in the first-half.”
Wenger welcomed the upcoming rest most of his first-team will have, with wholesale changes expected for our fourth-round League Cup tie against Reading on Tuesday night.
