Arsenal survived a few scares in the first half and eventually ran out 1-0 winners with an 86th-minute winner as we kept our faint top four hopes alive.

Ending a poor run of results in midweek Premier League games, Petr Cech kept us in the game with a smart save from Riyad Mahrez to keep the scores level.

Alexis Sanchez, who was poor throughout, burst into life moments before half-time as he crashed the crossbar with some individual brilliance.

However, we failed to register a single effort on target in the second-half, a familiar theme which has seen us suffer in games similar to the one against Leicester City.

With the clock ticking down, Monreal took a swipe at goal which took a massive deflection of Rob Huth to flash past Kasper Schmeichel and hand us all three points.

It will go down as an own goal with the ball heading towards the corner flag before its deviation.

While results are paramount this late into the season, we’ll need to perform much better against Spurs this weekend if we’re to stand any chance of claiming three points.

They are the in-form team in the league and the players should take extra motivation ahead of potentially ending Spurs’ title hopes.
