Arsenal recorded a comfortable 2-0 win against relegated Sunderland at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday night in front of a subdued crowd.

Following talk of a boycott ahead of the game, there were noticeably a number of empty seats around the stadium as some fans lose faith in the club’s direction.

The lack of atmosphere seemed to seep into our play and despite creating a few good chances and dominating possession, we went into the break level.

Arsenal were also met, predictably, with a man possessed in goal as Jordan Pickford answered every shot he faced in the opening 70 minutes.

However, with 20 minutes to go, out three most impressive players combined to give us the lead in a flowing move. Granit Xhaka looped the ball over the defence for the onrushing Mesut Ozil who took the pace off the ball with one touch.

The German picked out Alexis Sanchez with that pass who had an easy tap-in to claim his 22nd Premier League goal this season.

The Chilean doubled our lead shortly after as he bravely rose inside the box to head home Olivier Giroud’s skewed effort which leaves Alexis a goal behind leading goalscorer Romelu Lukaku.

With minutes left on the clock, the game fizzled out as a contest though the visitors did provide us with some hairy moments throughout.

We now go into the final round of Premier League fixtures a point off Liverpool, hoping for them to slip-up and wait for our moment to sneak back into the Champions League places.

Check out the match highlights in the video above.
