Arsene Wenger was given a boost ahead of our clash against West Bromwich Albion at the Emirates Stadium after Per Mertesacker and Danny Welbeck returned to full training.
Welbeck has been out since damaging knee ligaments in May against Manchester City last season, while Mertesacker suffered a similar injury during pre-season.
Both will definitely provide some leadership and experience at a time when we’re going through our most indifferent period of the season so far.
Having remained unbeaten since the opening day, we suffered back-to-back defeats in a matter of days against Everton and Manchester City respectively.
Welbeck is one of two members of our squad with a Premier League winners medal – along with Petr Cech – and the England man is certainly needed in attack.
The pair will surely need a few games in the U-23s before they feature for the first-team, but their returns are edging ever closer.
