Arsenal fans hurl abuse at players & Wenger on the team bus…
Arsenal fans waited behind after the demoralising defeat to Crystal Palace on Monday night to let Arsene Wenger and the players know exactly what they felt about their performance.
It seemed to be a tipping point for the Arsenal fans on Monday night and it really started to turn hostile atmosphere in the away at Selhurst Park, with the Gunners fans resembling that of grounds like the Ataturk Stadium in their hostility.
At one point, a flare was lit in the away end as the fans proceeded to tell the Gunners players that they weren’t “fit to wear the shirt.”
If that wasn’t enough, the video above shows a group of supporters who waited for the team bus which was destined for north London to gave the Arsenal players and Wenger a piece of their mind.
While the players and the driver waited to move off, the supports were practically pressed up against the glass, hurling abuse such as: “Go back to Valencia Mustafi!”
We have, as Arsenal fans, been deemed impatient and very reactionary in our response to defeats; that couldn’t be further from the truth.
That defeat to Crystal Palace could’ve taken place at any time during the past 10 years, despite a massive turnover of players during that period.
While Wenger claims such defeats were “rare”, we literally suffered a similar loss just before the international break at West Bromwich Albion.
Huge changes are needed at Arsenal this summer, and I just can’t fathom how Arsene Wenger can carry on beyond this season.
