Arsenal Hero Tony Adams Fears “Sad” Ending For Arsene Wenger

Tony Adams fears for Arsene Wenger…

Former Arsenal skipper Tony Adams feels Arsene Wenger may have overstayed his welcome and missed out on an opportunity to go out on a high after the FA Cup triumph last month.

Adams, who’s had a colourful relationship with Wenger following his criticisms of the boss in recent months, is of the belief that his former boss can’t let go.

The man who remains the only skipper to win a league title in three separate decades, Adams labelled Wenger as someone who’s “addicted” to Arsenal and is afraid of life without football.

Given that Wenger will invariably be judged on what happens on the pitch, our former skipper feels we won’t win the league in the next two years.

“I believe this squad is not going to win the league in the next two years,” Adams predicted.

“It could possibly all crumble around him, and I think that would be very sad.

“I don’t want that spoiled and I see signs that he’s incredibly addicted to football. I don’t see that he’s got a life outside of it.”

There is the argument that Wenger should’ve walked after the cup win in 2014 with his contract coming to an end, yet he stayed on and has added another two FA Cups.

However, our league campaigns have regressed to the point that we’ve lost out fourth place position while finishing double-digit points behind the champions.
