Arsenal legend Ian Wright revealed that if he had to pick between Alexandre Lacazette and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for the centre-forward position, he’d choose the former.

Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, Wright spoke on the trending topic surrounding the club which is how we can try to field a more balanced side.

Our 2-0 win against Everton was very welcome, but it exposed the flaws in our attacking play and Aubameyang looks uncomfortable being shunted out wide.

Also, the experiment of Aaron Ramsey playing in the No.10 role with Mesut Ozil on the right seems unbalanced, especially with Alex Iwobi and Henrikh Mkhitaryan waiting in the wings.

Wrighty claimed that we have to find a system which positions our two strikers together centrally, though he was in no doubt who he’d prefer if he only could choose one.

That’s £110m worth of players,” the Gunners icon exclaimed while on BBC Radio 5 live.

“They’re Arsenal’s most expensive two players, we have to get them two into the team and I think you have to keep them in and around the penalty spot.”

Pressed on who he felt was the better No.9 if he had to choose, Wrighty didn’t hesitate: “I think Lacazette is the better straight up number nine. He is a really clinical finisher given the opportunity.”

Emery has been going through an experimental stage while playing competitive games and one hopes that he’ll settle on an XI and a preferred system soon.
