Ian Wright worried about Jack Wilshere after U23s brawl…

Arsenal legend Ian Wright is worried about Jack Wilshere’s state of mind after the 25-year-old got himself sent off in a U23s game against Manchester City.

Wilshere reacted angrily to a late tackle and started a mini-brawl in the centre circle, pushing one player to the floor while head-butting another.

The playmaker didn’t stop there, waiting for Tyreke Wilson by the tunnel – who was also sent – and continued the handbags there.

Wilshere is one of the most mentally strong players in the world given that he’s kept himself upbeat despite an unlucky injury record, though Wrighty feels he’s not in a good place at the moment.

“For me, he doesn’t show that he’s in a good place to retaliate like he did. It’s worrying times for him – I do feel for him,” Wright said on Sky Sport’s debate show.

“I know he’s been injured and the guy’s caught him a bit late, but you’ve got to be bigger than that, he’s got to get on with that and show that he’s in a different place.

“I remember when I played in the reserves at that stage of my career, I was getting towards the end, kids were kicking you, you were having banter back with them.”
Wilshere’s contract situation seems to be preventing him from being given a chance in the first-team, with Wenger looking to protect him from an injury which may cost him a move.
If he’s here after August 31st, Wilshere could get his chance in the cup competitions.
