Arsenal players looked on in shock as Danny Welbeck received treatment on the Emirates pitch after the England forward landed awkwardly on his left ankle.

Welbeck came charging in for a header, though it seemed his entire weight collapse on his ankle as he came down, and one could immediately tell that this was serious.

Our physio rushed onto the pitch and then immediately requested for a stretcher and the Entonox – the gassed often used to relieve pain following a bone injury.

As the experts continued to treat Welbeck, Matteo Guendouzi and Aaron Ramsey were visibly in distress as they stood over their teammate – the latter, of course, reliving memories of his horrendous leg break in 2009.
