Arsenal quintet honoured for last season’s work…
Arsenal had a strong presence in the PFA Team of the Season for 2023/24, with five of their key players – David Raya, William Saliba, Gabriel Magalhães, Declan Rice, and Martin Ødegaard – earning well-deserved spots in the prestigious lineup.

David Raya, the Spanish goalkeeper who joined Arsenal from Brentford, showcased his shot-stopping abilities and composure throughout the season. The former Brentford man won last season’s Golden Glove award, following his remarkable tally of keeping 16 clean sheets.
In defence, Gabriel and William Saliba formed an incredible partnership last term with the latter playing every minute of our record-breaking Premier League campaign.
The pair are now regarded as one of the best centre-back pairings in Europe and, given their age, can continue to grow towards reaching some of the best partnerships in the league’s history.
Declan Rice made the squad following his debut season at The Arsenal after his £105 million move from east London. Rice was described as a signing that couldn’t possibly go wrong and so he proved. Mikel Arteta has often described him as a ‘lighthouse’ and that encapsulates him. Always present, always consistent.
The Gunners skipper Martin Odegaard is the last player to make the cut and the Norwegian will likely feel like he could’ve also walked away with the Players’ Player of the Year award. In an era when fans claim they want to watch artistic players as opposed to ‘robots’, Odegaard is every bit an artist.
Having said that, if you have your face stuck in an app while the game is going on, you’ll definitely miss his magic.
