Arsenal’s Hale End Academy reopened…

Arsenal have finally reopened the refurbished complex at Hale End for the Gunners academy which has undergone some serious work over the past year.

Ivan Gazidis warned us that a significant sum of our cash reserves would go into upgrading our facilities for the youth team given that we’ve fallen behind our rivals in that department over the past few years.

Manchester City, Spurs and other clubs around Europe have built new facilities since we officially opened the Hale End centre, and the club felt that we needed an upgrade in order to compete for the best talent around the world.

Gazidis and Academy Manager, Luke Hobbs were certainly delighted with how the facility now looks.

“We wanted to take the level of the facility to something that was world class and really world leading,” Gazidis told Arsenal Player.

And the chief executive was echoed by Hobbs in his glowing praise of the facility: “What we’ve got now has taken us to the next level.”

In the video above, the club gives us a small virtual tour of the updates they’ve made at Hale End and one must admit that it’s very impressive.

After Man City’s opening of their complex, it seemed imperative that we kept up the standard of our hub for youth players since that’s a market we’ve been competitive in over the past 20 years.

Check out the video above as we’re given access to some of the new surroundings our youth teams will now call home.
