Arsenal stars react to win on social media…
Arsenal’s first team stars took to social media to react to securing our first Premier League win in five games with a comfortable 3-0 defeat of Nottingham Forest.
The visitors arrived in N5 off the back of a good start to the season and on an unbeaten run away from home, a sequence of games that included a 1-0 win at Liverpool.
Mikel Arteta rang the changes for the encounter, making five alterations to the team that drew at Chelsea before the international break.
It didn’t hinder our fluidity with the team producing some wonderful football, especially in that first half as Martin Odegaard strutted his stuff in front of the Gunners faithful.
The skipper produced a sensational piece of skill to guide the ball to Bukayo Saka as he glided by a few defenders before thrashing the ball into the net.
The result should’ve been sewn up before half-time with Saka, Odegaard, Jurrien Timber and Leandro Trossard missing chances to put the game beyond Nuno Espirito Santo’s men.
We eventually found a crucial second goal through Thomas Partey’s lovely effort from the edge of the box after being introduced at half-time.
Then came a moment in history as Ethan Nwaneri became our second-youngest Premier League scorer of all time as he side-footed Raheem Sterling’s cut-back home.
The players will certainly be hoping this is now the start of an impressive winning run that will see us close the gap to Liverpool. We’re certainly capable of it.
Check out the reaction from the players in the posts below.
