Olivier Giroud admits he could leave…

Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud admitted that his future is very much in doubt following the arrival of Alexandre Lacazette this summer.

Giroud, who’s previously been our main forward, knows he’ll be relegated to the bench following the signing of his compatriot for £52million this summer.

Ahead of next summer’s World Cup, players across Europe are clearly worried about their playing time at certain clubs and Giroud is currently France’s No.1 striker.

Didier Deschamp has favoured him to the likes of Lacazette, Karim Benzema and Kylian Mbappe, which is rather ironic for us fans.

It’s clearly a tactical ploy from Deschamp, with Giroud used as a focal point for the flying wingers around him.

However, if he isn’t playing on a weekly basis, the 30-year-old may see his spot in the international team taken by Lacazette as well.

“I honestly don’t know,” Giroud admitted.

“At the moment I’m still an Arsenal player so I’ll try to be professional like always and prepare well for next season.

“Obviously there will be more competition, even more than last year, but it’s always nice for a striker to feel the pressure and I always deal with it.”
