Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez was present at Wembley despite not being in the matchday squad, and the Chilean came onto the pitch at full time to congratulate the players on the win.
After coming from behind to level the game in normal time thanks to Sead Kolasinac’s towering header, we completely annihilated the Premier League champions in a penalty shootout.
Theo Walcott, Nacho Monreal, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Olivier Giroud netted for us from 12 yards, with all four players sending Thibaut Courtois the wrong way.
Petr Cech didn’t even have to make a save for us to come out victorious, as Chelsea duo Courtois and Alvaro Morata failed to hit the target with their efforts.
At full-time, a few players who weren’t part of the matchday squad came down to celebrate with the players, including Alexis Sanchez.
It’s the first time the 28-year-old has faced the fans following a summer of speculation, and Alexis was met with a chorus of his infamous chant.
He responded by waving back at the fans, before accompanying the rest of the squad up the Wembley steps to collect their medals.
It was the most pertinent moment in this saga, with Alexis looking like he’s accepted Wenger’s decision to keep him for one more year.
