Shkodran Mustafi picked up a solid accent during his Everton days…

Arsenal stars Shkodran Mustafi and Danny Welbeck debuted a new feature on Arsenal Player this week, with the duo sitting down for a ‘One on One’ interview between themselves.

Mustafi spent a few of his teenagers years at Everton and although he didn’t make a senior appearance under David Moyes, he seems to have become rather familiar with the culture on Merseyside.

Welbeck asked the German World Cup winner if he’d developed a solid Scouse accent during those years, to which Mustafi replied: “Of course, lad,” in the harshest Scouse accent you’ll ever hear from a foreigner.

“I was 17, and I was looking forward to playing in the Premier League because it was, and still is, the biggest league,” Mustafi said about his early move to Everton.

“When the opportunity arrived that I could sign for a Premier League club, I did that.”

Mustafi joined us from Valencia last summer as he looked to make a name for himself in England for the second time in his career.

The jury is still out on the 25-year-old ahead of the new campaign, with some muscular injuries ending his debut season rather prematurely.

Check out the duo’s amusing discussion in the video above.
