Arsenal’s first-team squad celebrated Roger Federer’s Australian Open victory after the Swiss star defeated his long-term rival, Rafael Nadal.

Having missed six months of tennis with an injury, Federer claimed his first grand slam title since Wimbledon in 2012 and certainly had the backing of the Arsenal squad.

After the win against Southampton in the FA Cup, the squad were in recovery mode in the gym and paid close attention to developments in Melbourne.

Federer’s compatriot Granit Xhaka posted the video above which shows Mesut Ozil and Shkodran Mustafi attempting to aggravate our Spanish contingent.

Nacho Monreal and Lucas Perez were clearly rooting for their Spanish brethren, but it was the other Arsenal stars that were celebrating in the end.
