Arsenal Trio Nearing Exit As Arsene Wenger Triggers Exodus – Report

Arsenal trio set for a late exit…

Arsenal trio Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Shkodran Mustafi and Lucas Perez could depart before next week’s transfer deadline as Arsene Wenger looks to dramatically cut his squad, SkySportsNews reports.

Oxlade-Chamberlain has told the club he wants to leave, according to the report, and has rejected the club’s latest contract worth £180,000 per week.

Chelsea are the club heavily linked with The Ox, although Liverpool are also said to be in for him with the club seemingly unprepared to let the 24-year-old run down his contract.

Mustafi is arguably the most shocking exit – if it goes through – with SkySportsNews stating that Inter have made a late push to sign him on loan with a view to a permanent move, with Wenger not ruling out his departure at a recent press conference.

In terms of Lucas, his exit has been inevitable ever since Alexandre Lacazette walked through the door, with all parties said to want a deal done before next Thursday, according to the report.

A return to Deportivo La Coruna remains the most likely destination.

Given that Mustafi and Lucas arrived last summer for a combined £52 million, questions must be asked regarding recruitment and how these players were deemed good enough.

If all three are allowed to walk out, failure to replace them would be one of the most bizarre decisions Wenger has signed off on during his Gunners tenure.
