Saka pours cold water on McGregor beef…

Arsenal star Bukayo Saka shared a message on social pouring cold water on reports of an internal investigation at the club regarding Conor McGregor’s antics on the Emirates Stadium pitch last week.

McGregor attended our Champions League tie against Paris Saint-Germain and after our 2-0 win, the former UFC champions took to the pitch alongside Gunners duo Saka and Declan Rice.

While the Irishman initially engaged in a harmless kickabout with the England stars, a further clip went viral of McGregor engaging in some light sparring with the winger.

At one stage, McGregor was seen swinging leg kicks at Saka with a few catching him on the midriff, causing the 23-year-old to ask him to “be careful.”

Now, as the dust settled on that evening, reports emerged that the club were conducting an internal investigation to assess protocol around post-match privileges for special guests.

While some may deem it excessive, it would’ve been an extremely bad look for the club if Saka was harmed in a playfight with a slightly unstable MMA fighter.

McGregor didn’t have an intention to hurt Arsenal’s vice-captain, but getting into a sparring MMA match with him is asking for trouble.

Having said that, Saka clarified that there were no hard feelings between him and the former UFC lightweight champion.
