Denis Suarez is now said to be close to joining on loan…

Arsenal are now said to be close to concluding a deal to bring Denis Suarez on loan until the end of the season hours after the deal seemed dead in the waters, BBC’s David Ornstein reports.

Barcelona were demanding for an obligation to buy clause to be inserted in Suarez’s deal, while we were after a simple loan deal with an option to buy in the summer.

However, with Suarez’s contract close to expiring, the Spanish giants were wary of the midfielder’s value decreasing over the next six months.

After both clubs refused to budge on their demands, reports in Spain claimed that a deal was off and that Suarez would remain at the Camp Nou.

However, Suarez has decided to extend his contract by another 12 months to protect his value and allow Barcelona to soften their stance.

According to The Evening Standard, we’re paying a €2.5m loan fee with an option to buy the former Manchester City academy graduate.

Also, David Ornstein maintains that Emery is hoping to add another winger to the squad, with talk of Yannick Carrasco and Ivan Perisic continuing to circle.

Raul Sanllehi must be applauded for bringing in a player to bolster the squad without tieing us down to a permanent and long-term financial package.
