Arsenal are set to face Solihull Moors or Blackpool in the FA Cup third round on Saturday, January 5th live on BT Sport as we look to extend our record of being the competition’s most decorated side, the club has confirmed.

It seems quite a while since we played our last FA Cup tie, and that’s due to an embarrassing third-round exit for the first time in over two decades when we lost 4-2 at Nottingham Forrest last season.

Solihull Moors and Blackpool will have a replay following their draw in the second round, and should Blackpool win, it will be the second time we’ve faced them in cup competitions.

Going to Solihull Moors would represent a real, traditional FA Cup tie, as the West Midlanders remain one of the few non-league sides left in the competition.

It was one of many down points in a horrible campaign, though the mood around the club is much different this term and Emery will be keen to end his first season here with silverware.

We’re already in the quarter-finals of the Carabao Cup and another derby win in that competition will see us one step away from a second final in as many years.

Qualifying for the Champions League is certainly the main aim this season, though we have the resources within the squad to mirror that task with a cup run.

A Europa League win would see us kill two birds with one stone this season and with Emery’s formidable record in that competition, we’re one of the favourites.

We have an affinity with the FA Cup and another cup isn’t something we’d turn our nose up at.
